Lipolysis at the IMCAS Congress in Paris

This year's IMCAS meeting included numerous presentations on the subject of lipolysis.

Speaking officially on behalf of the Network, Dr. Franz Hasengschwandtner gave a paper on the NETWORK cellulitis treatment which, through the combination of lipolysis and mesotherapy techniques, is able to produce remarkable success in the fight against this disheartening condition which primarily affects women. The paper was followed with interest, and in a subsequent controversial discussion, Dr. Diane Duncan, the NETWORK-Lipolysis representative for the USA, and Dr. Hasengschwandtner, Scientific and Medical Director NETWORK-Lipolysis, put forward the Network's position. For the sake of our present readers, this can be briefly summarised as follows: The members of NETWORK-Lipolysis are by no means uncritical advocates of the therapy, but are equally not opponents of this new aesthetic application. Our position is that facts and figures, whether positive or negative, should take the place of polemic argument. To achieve this goal, the NETWORK members undertake a wide range of activities. It should also be mentioned, however, that the position of the opponents of our new form of therapy has also changed; the polarisation is lessening, and the two camps are increasingly moving towards each other.
